Technical Superintendent

REPORTING TO:General Manager
BASE LOCATION:Office, Port and Vessel – if necessary and there is a requirement
PRINCIPAL QUALITY ACCOUNTABILITIES (QUALITY WORK)
1.Coordinate dry docking and repairs with all concerned classification societies, government agencies, supplies and spare parts.
2.Evaluate requisitions, job orders and recommend for approval.
3.Select, interview, evaluate and recommend for hiring personnel and crew for engineering department.
4.Monitor and supervise the general vessel operations.
5.Monitor and evaluate performance of machinery onboard the vessels through actual inspections and through engine log book reports and maintenance /repair reports.
6.Monitor / evaluate performance of engineering personnel and recommend promotion /dismissal.
SAFETY ACCOUNTABILITIES
1.Maintain a fleet of seaworthy vessels with adequate spares, components, equipment, tools and suitably qualified maintenance personnel to comply with the company’s Safety and regulatory obligations.
2.Implement and conform to regulatory and manufacturer requirements, to ensure the Safety of personnel, crew and passengers of the vessel.
3.Monitor safe systems of work that complies with the company’s, Safety objectives.
4.Work with the regulatory bodies in the development of seaworthiness and maintenance standards.
5.Report any service difficulties to the general manager thru the appropriate report form.
6.Observe and control safe systems of work through the monitoring and supervision of maintenance crew in
